Beauty abounds at our lakes and there is no shortage of beautiful sights for stunning photography. Wildlife abounds and you will certainly have a fair chance on Sasa-ginni-gak Lake to see Caribou, Moose or Black Bear.
For a short hike with a great view head from the beach at Fire Tower Island up to the base of the fire tower. There are a number of small beaches around Sasa-ginni-gak depending on the water levels. Go for a little swim or take the kids for a nature walk and discover animal tracks in the sand. Kids love to discover moss, mushrooms, lichen and “caribou cornflakes”. Beautiful ancient native pictographs can also be seen on some of the rock faces on the lake. The shoreline rises from low weedy bays with beaver dams, to granite shores where painted turtles sun themselves on a log, to wide open water where families of loons take song and soars to bold rock cliffs with towering pines where eagles soar.
